Wiig and Stiller combine for Walter Mitty remake

20 Jan 2012
Time to expose Mitty's secret life again.
Kristen Wiig is looking to take the lead role in Ben Stiller‘s remake of the classic comic fantasy The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. She has reportedly been taken on to play the female lead role alongside Stiller. Wiig will feature as the co-worker that Mitty fantasizes about as he dreams his way out of the rut that he is in. More news regarding the cast and crew should emerge in the near future as the film is scheduled to start shooting in April.

This could throw her role in Sean Penn's The Comedian into doubt. That particular film featuring Robert De Niro was due to start filming in June. It is possible that she could go from The Secret Life of Walter Mitty to The Comedian, but it casts some uncertainty over her appearance in the latter. Elsewhere, Wiig has been pencilled in for a role in Freezing People is Easy alongside Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson and Christopher Walken. This is also planned as a summer shoot, but may suit Wiig's hectic schedule.
