Project finally going ahead as planned.
Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep have signed on to the adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play, August: Osage County. The project was originally planned and the pairing was even linked back in 2010, but schedules and deals took some time. Roberts said that she is thrilled about the opportunity to work with Streep, who is currently in the running for an Oscar for The Iron Lady. Roberts said, “After seeing Meryl Streep's mesmerizing portrayal as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, it has me even more excited and proud to co-star with her."
August: Osage County has been written by Tracy Letts and follows the women of a family whose lives have splintered in many directions until a crisis bring them back to their childhood home and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
