Randy Orton ain`t no marine boy!

03 Apr 2012
***GASP*** Something about wrestling is fake... WHAT????
WWE Superstar Randy Orton has been dropped from his lead role in upcoming movie Marine: Homefront after it was highlighted that he had, in fact, been dishonourably discharged during his time in the US Marine Corps.
While it may be no surprise to many to find out that something to do with wrestling is shock horror fake, most of us don't give a damn! We love it anyways! From the People's Eyebrow to Fruity Pebbles, WWE can do now wrong. And if you don't believe us then just ask one of the 78,000 people who turned up, not to mention the millions of people watching around the world, to witness the epic battle between Dwayne The Rock Johnson and John Cena on Sunday night at Wrestlemania 28, OR you can kiss our Candy Ass!!
Indeed WWE would have remained untouchable until it managed to get a black mark beside its name in light of the recent miscasting of Orton in the thrid installment of the Marine franchise. After receiving a bad conduct discharge in 1999 for going AWOL on two separate occasions and disobeying an order from a commanding officer, Orton was court-martialed and served a 38 day military prison sentence.
Cpl. Mike Vinn, one of Orton's former unit members told TMZ "I am disgusted that his face and the word Marine are being used next to each other -- real or fake -- because of the fact that he quit us, the country, and the Marine Corps. [Randy] in the role of a Marine is a disgrace to those that have worn and are wearing that uniform."
In an attempt to satiate fans, A WWE rep responded "Despite Randy's popularity, the fact that he was dishonorably discharged from the USMC made it inappropriate for him to be cast in this film." Further saying that "WWE demonstrated poor judgment in signing Randy Orton for the 3rd installment of the film." The first "Marine" starring WWE's John Cena was released in 2006 by Fox and grossed $22million worldwide, enough to warrant a sequel direct to homevid starring WWE ex marine number 2 Ted DiBiase Jr. in 2009. Production for Orton's Marine movie was set to start on June 11 in Vancouver and would've been distriubuted by Fox worldwide on DVD, Blu-ray, VOD and as a digital download but after Orton's smackdown from lead role who knows what will happen with the proposed title. No doubt WWE will fill the role somehow.... Maybe they'll decide to cast new HeavyWeight champ and Dublin native Sheamus in a "Coming to America" wrestling style flick...?
