The star-spangled avenger will return after The Avengers.
Marvel has announced that the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger will hit cinema screens on April 4th 2014 and pick up where The Avengers finishes. The project is still without a director although the shortlist includes George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau), F. Gary Gray (Friday and The Italian Job) and Joe and Anthony Russo (Welcome to Collinwood and You, Me & Dupree).
The sequel is also without a plot, but Marvel has stated that it will pick up where The Avengers leaves off this summer. All that has been revealed so far is a brief synopsis that reads, “Steve Rogers continues his affiliation with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D and struggles to embrace his role in the modern world.” There’s still plenty of time to get everything in order. As for Captain America himself, the next time we see him on screen will be in the release of The Avengers on April 26th in much of Europe or May 4th in North America.
