Will Nickelodeon be playing a trick or giving a treat?
If scary movies aren’t your cup of tea, Halloween isn’t a great time of year for cinema releases. However, Nickelodeon is hoping to tap into the market of people who are looking for a chuckle, or those who are cynical about the festival. Fun Size is a film about a girl named Wren (Victoria Justice) who gets into the spirit of Halloween after she gets invited to a party by her crush. Naturally, her mother has to spoil the party as she wants Wren to look after her little brother. Wren takes her eyes off him for a second and ust like that, he’s gone. From there, Wren and her friend April (Jane Levy) have to try to track him down and get him home safely.
It’s a premise that has been seen and done before, so we’re curious to see what kind of spin Nickelodeon can put on it. Some of the jokes don’t seem like ones that you would expect the Nickelodeon name to be attached to, although don’t expect cutting-edge risqué material at the same time. Fun Size also stars Thomas Mann, Johnny Knoxville and Chelsea Handler. It will be released on October 26th in North America and October 31st in Europe.
