Bill and Ted could be set for a new adventure

10 Aug 2012
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have both been open to the idea of embarking on a third Adventure, but this could be a reality in the near future. Co-creators Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson have reportedly attached Galaxy Quest director Dean Parisot to the project. It doesn’t look as though a third film would stray from the series’ roots. Solomon and Matheson are dismissing the possibility of a simple rehash or reboot, choosing instead to write a script to explore where our heroes might be at this stage in their life. Reeves previously hinted at something similar saying that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved all of humanity, but couldn’t. As a result, this movie could explore how they are coping with that failure. There are still barriers in the way. MGM Pictures still owns the rights to Bill & Ted, but it is being shopped around elsewhere in a bid to co-finance it. In addition, Parisot is set to direct the sequel to 2010’s Red, which will begin filming in spring. So the newest adventure will have to be put on the back-burner until then.
