Mad Max: Fury Road begins shooting after years ...

16 Aug 2012
Mired in development hell for 25 years, Mad Max: Fury Road has finally started principal photography in Namibia.
The latest entry in the post-apocalyptic saga will star Tom Hardy in the role of Max Rockatansky and he'll be joined by Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa. Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones and Rosie Huntington-Whitley round out the cast. Returning at the helm is original director George Miller, and he's dropped a few hints about what fans can expect from the plot: “Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.” We're not sure exactly what a Word Burger is, but we're excited nonetheless!
