Thor 2 adds second villain

23 Aug 2012
The forces of the Dark Elves grow stronger.
A second villain has been added to the roster for Thor: The Dark World, or Thor 2 if you want to keep it simple. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Lost) will play the role of Algrim the Strong, a character from the comics who was the most powerful among the Dark Elves. He joins the already cast Christopher Eccelston who assumes the role of Malekith the Accursed, the ruler of the Dark Elves. Chris Hemsworth, Kat Dennings, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard and Rene Russo are set to resume their respective roles. Thor: The Dark World will be released in cinemas on November 8th, 2013. Read on if you wish to see where Algrim the Strong may fit into the story. However, there may be spoilers. In the comics, Algrim the Strong was the most powerful of a race of Dark Elves. He was convinced to fight Thor by Malekith who later betrays him, as bad guys are prone to doing. After sustaining an injury and later healing, he transforms into a more powerful being called Kurse who is said to be much stronger than Thor himself.
