Kelly Rowland put herself on the line for an auditionee during the latest 'X Factor' auditions when she walked off the panel to get a girl group singer to try out as a solo artist.
The former Destiny's Child singer was impressed with singer Chrissie Pitt but her and the rest of the judges - Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh - didn't like her group Twisted.
After the band was rejected, Kelly went after Chrissie to have a heart-to-heart chat with her and insisted she would only return if she was allowed to audition again on her own.
Kelly told Chrissie: "What are you doing with these doo-wop singers? You don't need them, you're a stand-alone singer. You have such a good, powerful and melodic voice."
The 30-year-old star has now vowed to make 26-year-old Chrissie - who was ditched at the boot camp stage of the ITV1 singing competition last year - her protege after she was put through by the panel as a solo artist.
