Informative, entertaining, full of fantastic music. An extraordinary story, one which has definately had a major impact not just on popular culture but on how one man can be a catalyst, a torch paper for a whole wave of music, art, architecture, entertainment, economics. Shame on you for not having already watched it, what the HELL were you doing?????

0.5 out of 10 Don't bother...
Alan from Dublin, 18 Feb 2009
POOR my CAPS key was not stuck I just need to emphasise how bad this is. I had read the other reviews and was open minded about this one but it is nothing short of terrible. Only think it has going for it is the catchy lyric's '24 hour party people' in the intro... Avoid like the plague...!!!

This is possibly the worst movie I recieved since I joined screenclick , don't know why it's in the recommended section. I like the manchester music scene so thought it would be enjoyable, it was neither funny or informative. Stay away !!

Great take on the rise and fall of the madchester scene. Very entertaining, I was a bit wary as I am a big music fan but this was very well done. Im off to stock up on my mid 90s records

4 out of 10 Interesting If You're into Music
Mike from Cork, 02 Sep 2008
I enjoyed this. It's quite funny and has loads of 70's, 80's, and 90's music references in it. It moves quickly as well from scene to scene. Quite a decent film.

What's it about....
Staggeringly versatile director Michael Winterbottom follows up his epic Western THE CLAIM with a period piece of a completely different variety. A sprawling, visceral tribute to the legendary Manchester music scene that flourished between the years of 1976 and 1992, 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE recreates that influential era with reckless exuberance. In order to bring structure to the tale, Winterbottom and screenwriter Frank Cottrell Boyce focus their attentions on Tony Wilson...
