The remake's a nightmare. Stick with the original.

The feeling I got from this film is that the producers, directors, whoever, watched the original Nightmare On Elm St from 1984 & completely failed to get the point.
Fred Krueger is scarier when there is less to know about him, either in backstory or physically - how can you be horrified by him if they show you him in the first reel in glorious cgi-nematics?
Also Jackie Earle Haley is unconvincing as Fred Krueger, he plods through the role where Robert Englund slashed, stalked and jibed through it - basically with JEH, take rehashed NOES lines and add the Rorschach voice from Watchmen. None of the teenage protagonists were engaging, they had no connection to either each other or the viewer - going from one boring and unconnected death scene (which were mostly rehashes of the original ones) to the next.
If anyone's thinking about watching this, feel free to do so. Just remember, whatever you do, you're going to fall asleep if you watch this mess of a film.

As an original Freddie child as i am and a big fan of the originals, I thought it was a good effort. It is hard to get used to the "new" Freddie and of course he is not as good as Englund but having said that I enjoyed watching it, some good scary scenes. New young cast ok. Would have liked to see the blood in the bed scene remade though. Did stick to the original in some parts. I think it was interesting to see some of Freddies past, don't think it took away from the scariness that is Freddie.

There will come a day when someone will figure out that freddy can not be killed. It does not matter if it is reality or dream world, he will not die. Its the same thing over and over again. Dont waste your time on this. You might fall asleep watching the movie and have a nightmare on why you wasted your time.

Not even scary, predictable, I was expecting a nightmar-ish movie, It was just a nightmare as most of people describe it. Avoid...do yourself a favour
