Another entertaining romp from Ron Howard

This movie is entertaining, so before I go any further understand that if you just need something that will keep your mind engaged for 2 hours, this movie will. Performances are pretty much all good, only problem being that perhaps Ron Howard tries to hard to give every character depth and in doing so loses some in the two leads, and perhaps even the antagonist. It is still well worth a watch and has some great scenes, particularily where Langdon is trapped in an airtight room in the basement of

In the first ten minutes I shouted at the screen a dozen times, becasue of the pure ridiculousness of the script. A bomb based on anti-matter made in the Hadron collider by scientists discussing God instead of their work?????? After that I was numbed into watching it, and although it still made no sense, it is actually a passable plot which entertains enough to watch to the end - just disegage your brain first.
Better then Expected

Robert Langdon is again called upon to solve a mystery involving the catholic church, this time involving missing cardinals.
Although it sounds like the plot from a Hardy Boys book, this film was quite good. I didn't like the Da Vinci code, so wasn't expecting much. But I was impressed. The ending was a bit obvious, but it was seriously played, and the scenes in the Vatican were brilliant.

Although not as well reviewed as the Da Vinci Code I found it as thought provoking. Tom Hanks plays an excellent Robert langdon. This is one of those films that you have watch from beginning to end in one sitting otherwise it is very hard to follow. Well worth spending a couple of hours to watch though.

Can't complain too much, it was exactly how I remembered the book bar a few changes. If you liked the book you won't be surprised at anything. If you've not read the book, it will be a fairly good movie for you to watch. A lot better than the Da Vinci Code
