2 out of 10 Because I Said So (a lot!)
lisa from Louth, 12 Mar 2008
Genuinely funny and sweet moments in this movie if you're a girl or in touch with your feminine side. Diane Keaton is a legend but overplays her role and gets a bit tiresome. Mandy Moore is sweetness personified. I can't really recommend it but if you're bored and feel like adding some harmless romcom to your day it's a safe enough choice. Or you could just re-watch a multitude of far superior movies already out there.

Chick flick central. If you have sisters and a medling mother it's kinda like laughing at yourself but otherwise it drags in places. Some bits are hilarious but I found it very hard to empathise with the lead - Mandy Moore's character, when she doesn't treat people very well but expects people to feel sorry for her cause she's screw up in relationships. It's funny but I've seen better.

3 out of 10 'Because I Said So'

Definitely a chick flick. My husband only saw about half an hour of it and thought it would never end. I enjoyed it though Diane Keaton's preformance is way over the top on more than one occassion. I would have liked to have seen more back story on the two sister (Particurlarly Lauren Graham as I am a big fan) but all in all it was a "nice chick flick"

I wouldn't recommend this film at all. I usually like Diane Keaton and there was potential for this film to be a lighthearted funnier chick flick but with annoying script and severe over-acting I'd advise everyone to give it a miss.

0 out of 10 Such High Hopes

I had such high hopes for this film, but it was terrible. Diane Keaton insisted on doing this ditzy blonde overacting and it was really irritating. If my mother did any of the stuff she did is this film I'd die!!

What's it about....
Dianne Keaton stars as Daphne Wilder, a mother whose love knows no bounds or boundaries. She is the proud mom of three daughters: stable psychologist Maggie (Lauren Graham), sexy and irreverent Mae (Piper Perabo) and insecure, adorable Milly (Mandy Moore). In order to prevent her youngest from making the same mistakes she did, Daphne decides to set Milly up with the perfect man. Little does Milly know, however, that her mom placed an ad in the online personals to find him....
