One of those completely emasculating films that your wife or girlfriend will probably enjoy.
Men are weak, sinning, stupid, or murderous (though there's a little redemption at the end for one.) Women -- at least the open minded ones -- are saintly.
Cillian Murphy (Excellent as the Scarecrow in Batman Begins) is even more amazing here.
I found it a bit slow and plodding, but with a few well drawn characters. About a 6/10 for me. My wife would give it an 7/10.

Patrick Jordan uses a light touch on a film which glances off of serious topics - the Troubles, abortion, rejection of societies' assigned roles, etc. The film follows the life of Kitten, from his infant arrival on the doorstep of a church, to the streets of London, chronicling his flamboyant and inspired search for his mother. Cillian Murphy fills the role with both gusto and sensitivity, bringing a mortal touch to a larger-than-life character.

Loved this film. There is so much going on in the movie. The main character is so vulnerable and yet so strong in a time that was unforgiving in it's attitudes to single mothers, homosexuals and in the middle of all this The Troubles just for good measure.I liked the use of music from the period to enhance the story. The acting was just great a good cast, good director and it didn't disappoint.

I was quite looking forward to this but ended up clock watching it did not hold my attention at all bar a few funny moments. Some people will no doubt love it the softly softly tones of the main character drove me nuts 0/10 for me, the girlies would probably give it more which says it all!

I watched this movie thinking I would hate it, but Patrick McCabe does it again. I loved it! The plot was farcical but captivating, the cast was spectacular and even though it was my girlfriend who rented it originally I now intend to buy it at the first opportunity
