A masterpiece

Just had to post a review to counter the 1-star reviews - couldn't believe 'A Bout de Souffle' was rated a 2-star movie! One of cinema's classics, a masterpiece in character development. Godard was a revolutionary who fought against perceived wisdom that every scene must serve a specific purpose. His shooting style was equally innovative: without Godard, there would be no MTV or Quentin Tarantino (some may say that's a good thing).
If you like linear plots and snappy action, then give it a m

Highly Recommended.

Please ignore the negative reviews here. This is a beautiful, timeless classic. and is one of the landmark films in movie history. It's got wonderful fast pacing and it unfolds the story almost as if filming a documentary - it makes no moral judgements about the elf-absorbtion of the characters. It has exerted a huge influence on modern film but beyond that it's still a superb piece in it's own right and creates such a sense of atmosphere and reality that you get completely lost in it.

pointless and stupid

it was probably very "a la mode" back in 1960 when JL Godard made this but this is one heck of a bad flick ! Stupid, makes no sense whatsoever. It is ridiculously played. If you want some black comedy AVOID at all cost ! Try "les tontons flingueurs" at least it comical. This one is useless. I watched it for 15 mins I sent it back straight away, so my advice is : don't bother!
Give it a miss

I'm afraid I didn't get this film at all. Afer watching it I can't remember a single thing that happened, there was no plot that I could make out nor are any redeeming features

Acquired taste and film of its day. Not sure if you would appreciate it if you didn't grow up in the 60's
