Good fun

This is a good yarn with good guys, action, supernatural powers, religion, monsters, passion and all set in 18th century France. The voiceover, for a change, is not too annoying and is by a character who is remembering what happened. It's an attempt of sorts to explain a "mystery" and provide some entertainment at the same time and it succeeds well enough. This is one of these films that should not be taken too seriously. It may not change your life but it's a fun two hours and well worth it.

One of my favourites

Bought this movie years ago after seeing in an arthouse cinema. The dvd actually has scenes cut from it that were in the cinema release but I still love the dvd... Agree with some of the reviews especially that it should be watched with the subtitles in French and don't take it too seriously - there's a little bit of everything with action/ mystery/ history and even the love interest..
Hope others enjoy as much as I did!

This movie is so bad but yet we just kept on watching. Infacted the voice over from french to engish should have made us stop it straight away, but we kept watching. I'm sitting here trying to give you a little peace of the story but I can't because there is no really direction to the film. Once you think you know what is happening they throw in a brothel were you can have your tarot read and shag.

Enjoyable movie, had hoped for more though.Based on a true story.Watch with subtitles , the dubbing is poor. Not bad but could have been better.Very few scares.

Entertaining. Well performed and very good storyline.
Might have been titled the Brother and Sisterhood of the Wolf
