Burn before watching!

I don't know what the Coen Brothers were trying to achieve with this movie. I have liked some of their past work, 'O Brother where art thou' is a gem of a movie. But 'Burn after reading' was so inconsistant, and the characters so one dimensional that i really didnt care what happened to any of them!. With such a stellar cast it beggars belief that the only consistant things that the Coen brothers have achieved with this film, is to get awful hammy performances out of great actors, and give the

C class fare from Coen Bros

We begin as with pretty much all Coen brothers films with a real left of centre idea for a film. This attitude to story telling has served them well through out the years with such classics as Fargo The big Lebowski & the astounding O brother where art thou? However for every great Coen film we have a real stinker to accompany it. Ie Blood simple, The lady killers & The hudsucker proxy. This I m afraid falls into the relms of the later. There is just not enough here to merit a movie

Burnt after watching

Great - true farse. I get worried when I see such a good cast it normally falls way short. I didn't know it was a Coen brother film beforehand and I'm glad as expectations would have been sky high.
Yer one form Fargo cracks me up. Pitt is a total spa - brilliant. I love John Malkovic - he's just got that edgyness. Clooney is ok he's always just surfing on the edge between funny and annoying in comedies but I accepted him this. Black comedy at it's best. Yeehaaa!

Burn After Reading

Loved it! I am a HUGE Coen brothers fan, so my opinion might be a bit suspicious... They have a great sense of humour and it's just hilarious how they make fun of the CIA, our obsession with our image etc. Great movie! Brad Pitt is in my opinion one of the best actors of our time - that man call pull anything off. Comedy, drama, action! Frances is great as always and John Malkovitch is histerical!! The Coens are dialog geniouses!!

Forgettable

The trailer was the most alluring of any I've seen in several years - unlike many, it told you nothing of the plot and left you hungry for more. However, the film is utter rubbish - up there with Intolerable Cruelty among the Coens' worst, although not just as bad as that mess. The only reason I welcome it is that the Coens, so dazzling with No Country For Old Men, can now move on to their next serious project.
