Didn't like it
Nuala from Dublin, 02 May 2012
It’s very rarely that I rant a film and don’t watch it to the end but this is one. Yes it has some very claver lines and yes it’s a good idea but it just doesn’t work, mainly because it tries too hard and I mean way to hard. Sometimes things can be too funny for their own good and it ends up its own backside!!!
Unusual / good movie
Rachel from Dublin, 16 Aug 2011
Wasn't sure what to expect - thought it would be a comedy with Ricky Gervais in it. But it's more a social commentary looking at young people's desire to get away from their home towns. Could be the same story told in Ireland, the UK or US! Enjoyable and unusual movie. Would recommend.
Brilliantly Gervais without being Gervais
Seamus from Monaghan, 25 Sep 2010
This is a really good British film and no doubt if it was by any other writer/ director it would be praised to the hilt but because it's Ricky Gervais and he's not doing David Brent we're told it's no good. There's a great story. Great Acting and a Great film.
Watchable
Conor from Louth, 19 Nov 2010
A throwback to 1970s Britain, flares, working class families, shady door to door insurance salesmen. Its all very watchable with a decent script and some likable performances. But not a lot really happens to be honest.
One scene

Fast forward until the disgruntled friend dances in the nightclub in slow motion, then eject and remember the scene forever with a glass of red and your imagination...
