Dissapointing

OK.. I am a huge fan of the original so I was interested to see what this had to offer. Thought the kid was great but dissapointed with Mr Depp, found his portrayal of Wonka a little obvious and two dimensional when he could have done so much more. Also the whole film did not seem to flow very well, seemed like just a series of sketches put together. My advice...get the original.. or read the book!

A great adaptation in the Tim Burton mold.Johnny Depp is irresistible as Willy Wonka. The whole cast is superb.Humour works on many levels.I think it is a credible remake of the early70s film of which I am a great fan-and now this version too!Great effects and music.

This film kept true to Roald Dahls book. Darkly delicious and not as Merry as the original film. Johhny Depp brought Roald Dahls Willy wonka out true to form being dark with a tinge of sadness. The Oompa Loompas so much in this version also!!!

A dark and unpleasant Americanised version of the classic that fails miserably. Characters are lacking charisma with personalities forced on them that they cannot pull off.
Do not ruin your happy childhood memories with this garbage.

Light, charming film, for the child in you. Unfortunately, it has ruined Johnny Depp for me! His unsexiest role ever. Still think I preferred the original.
