over the top horror - one for genre fans only

Sam Raimi directs with the his trademark zest for over the top, eye- popping horror -fans of the EVil Dead series may find something here to hold the interest.
A gypsy curse leads to a battle for a young girls soul -there are few genuinely scary moments, and it is nothing that we have not seen before, but it does have Raimi's trademark touch. Plenty of outrageous, darkly comic moments, this one left me a little disappointed considering some of the reviews it has received.
Lukewarm.

Great fun - though not for the fainthearted

Sam Raimi delivers again! Very well made horror with loads of creepy stuff, disgusting laughs, and action. As much as possible, it's very funny, but it's not a comedy horror like Evil Dead 2. This is a bit more hardcore, but still all-out entertainment (if you don't mind jumping out of your seat a few times).
It's not horror, BUT it's quite funny!

Popcorn horror , all the way to the almost predictable 1970's type ending.
Very funny, none of the menace or greepiness of true horror, but with a (fairly well realised) demon and a nasty gypsy curse. Pure Schlock.
Don't rent it thinking it's horror, it's about as as scary as Buffy.
Enjoyable

I thought this was a great little movie. The special effects were cool, pretty gruesome at times. Yes it was predictable, but it was entertaining. You have to rent it just for the fight scene with the granny alone, classic and darkly comedic.
Perfectly fun movie

This was far from being the scariest movie I have ever seen, it was more of a comedy that a horror but it was good fun. Like a long episode of The Twilight Zone.
