Goodbye Solo is a surprisingly beautiful film. I watched it 'by accident' and was so glad I did. It is set in Winston- Salem which appears grey and soulless. The light comes from Solo, a Senagelese cab driver, whose inner light shines throughout the film. He is hired to by an cranky older man to bring him to the Blowing Hole, a local landmark, at the end of the week. An unlikely relationship develops between the two men. While perhaps not totally satisfying at the end, this film contains beautiful acting performances, especially seen in the character of Solo, the cheerful, kind, yet quietly troubled taxi driver. Some great humour and very genuine humanity.

It starts out good, then it goes straight to bad. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

This film did nothing for me. I found it slow & tedious and meaningless. Very overrated
