Maybe one of the finest of all Hollywood comedies. And its proof that remakes don't always have to suck. It is a brilliantly imaginative retelling of the classic play and film The Front Page, with 'Hildy' as a woman this time. Grant and Russell are memorable as the bickering couple caught up in the cynical world of 1920's New York newspapers. The dialog sparkles and shines and even the most minor characters are played by wonderful actors. Hilarious and essential viewing.

What's it about....
This hilarious re-working of The Front Page by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur sees Grant as the savage editor and, in a switch, the reporter played by scheming Rosalind Russell. This version adds the twin lures of sex and romance. The film moves at whirlwind speed, as Director Howard Hawks instructed his actors to overlap their lines, so much so that at times everyone seems to be talking at once.
