Occasionally amusing but mostly crude,
mary from Limerick, 02 Jun 2012
The Hangover guys' success may well have secured a green light for this occasionally amusing but mostly crude, charmless and misjudged comedy that veers between broad knockabout material and something aspiring to the more realistic, hyperobserved comedy style of TV's The Office. Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day play Nick, Kurt and Dale, three amigos with one awful thing in common: they are each being victimised by their horrible bosses: a corporate bully (Kevin Spacey), a cokehead asshole (Colin Farrell with a comedy-fake combover) and a sex-pest dentist (Jennifer Aniston). Advised by an absurdly unconvincing tough guy (Jamie Foxx), they conceive a strangers-on-a-train plan to kill each others' bosses. The plot itself is chaotic, and not in an especially good way, and the tonal challenges and problems inherent in ultra-black comedy are not addressed. Perhaps inevitably, the three nasty bosses are far more interesting than.

Desperately bad movie

Rated 1 because that's the lowest! Didn't even finish the film which is something I hate doing. There is no substance whatsoever in this movie. It is utterly unwatchable. Kevin Spacey is the same character as he played in Swimming with Sharks - which was a very good film. Jennifer Anniston uses the entire range of sexual innuendo and bad language in her repetoire. Colin Farrell is funny but completely wasted. The underlings are so awful - I think the bosses treated them well considering what losers they are. The idea that JA would have any attraction for her assistant is a joke but not unfortunately a funny one. Do not waste your time getting this film.

Sexist rubbish

Not really worth giving it a 1 to be honest.. Crass language does not make a movie good...and as for the Gender stereotyping ...... need i say more!!! .... I like a good laugh as the next person but this film did not even provide that... compared to such funny films as Bridemaids or even Knocked Up....it would mark a zero...
Should have been better

Had all the ingredients to be a great movie but just didn't deliver. All the characters were well acted, especially Jamie Foxx, Colin Farell and Jenifer Aniston, but the story was disjointed and the laughs isolated. I think the cast and crew had more fun making it than it is to watch.
Hangover for beginners.

If you liked The Hangover you'll like this. It's funny but not 'falling off the sofa' funny. The main characters are well acted and well written but for me the star was Jennifer Anniston playing a 'vamp'. It was a good night in and I enjoyed it but it didn't change my life.
