3 out of 10 Good film - no city of god though
Christina from Dublin, 21 Apr 2010
Johnny Mad Dog is pretty grim watching... the tale of a group of child soldiers, mostly snatched from their parents to join the rebel faction. Johnny, the main character was taken from his parents at the age of 10 and can't remember his real name. Definitely worth watching - bit slow moving in parts but overall a good way to spend a few hours

4 out of 10 Unusual & fascinating
Brian from Dublin, 08 Aug 2010
Very good. Unusual - all the actors (the main ones anyway) are former child soldiers. Some great viseral scenes & bizarre comic/horror feel to it. Has a very good bonus feature showing how the child soldiers were trained to be actors. Highly recommended

4 out of 10 Nothing compares to this !!
brian from Meath, 17 Dec 2010
A real eye opener and an amazing performance from young actors who appear to have lived events portrayed. The film really underlines of the insanity of life in Liberia during this period, I really recommend this film.

4.5 out of 10 Wow,harsh reality.
Grainne from Longford, 12 Feb 2011
Brutal, truth of what happened in the world.Shocking and saddening story of child soliders loosely based around Liberia. Honest, nitty gritty reality without Hollywoods polish to it.

What's it about....
A child soldier armed with weapons of death and willing to use them at the slightest provocation serves as the focal point for this drama highlighting the need for greater humanity in a country ravaged by absurd wars. Johnny is a fifteen year old soldier with a small commando unit, and together this team robs, pillages, and kills everyone and everything in their path. Laokole is a sixteen year old girl who spirits her disabled father around on a ramshackle wheelbarrow...
