Provocative French cinema

Black and white, French with subtitles, hip hop soundtrack, gritty concrete banlieue scenery. Vincent Cassel is amazing as are the other actors - such realistic performances. Excellent cinematography making great use of the black and white film. A wonderful insight into the other side of Paris, a long way from the small dogs on laps at cafe tables.
Must see!

Excellent movie. Standout scenes include, hip hop dj putting speakers out the window of his appartment and the sound of his remix of edith piafs "no regrets" wafting into the paris tenements air...the old mans story about "the good shit".Highly recommended
Thug Life!!

Its a hard knock life for a young wannabe gangster Vincent Cassell and his two friends who are full of hate and anger because all they are surrrounded by is drugs, guns and death. Nicely shot in black and white. Good film but lost my attenetion at times.
Strong stuff

A classic from the day it was released this is fantastic stuff - a tough, riveting portrayal of a day in the life of a group of kids from the outer French suburbs. Its tough, funny, exciting and moving. Essential stuff.

great watch with a very young Vincent Cassel more of a mans film but if you are a lady who likes suspence you might just enjoy it
