One of the great French films
Philip from Dublin, 25 Jul 2010
This is an amazing, sprawling film, as French as fois gras. It is an epic about the theatre and a manage a trois (or more, its hard to count sometimes) in a world of actors, egos, mimes and great loves. Its gorgeous to look at, featuring amazing performances. Its hugely melodramatic and over the top, but somehow holds it all together. Maybe the greatest of all French films, essential viewing for film lovers.

It may be a classic but I wonder...

Sat through the first half and enjoyed the mime and the historical aspect but only just maintained contact. Then at the end of part one I felt i had seen enough to convince me that it was time to return it and get something that would engross or move, or stimulate me so returned it with part two unviewed and dont feel my life will be unduly disturbed as a result!
Jolies Enfants Du paradis

Well worth a watch, this French black and white classic is very stylized with a mythic, epic quality to it. Beautifully atmospheric, it looks at the choices we make and how we may or may not regret these later on in life. An engaging and wonderful love story.
Les Enfants Terrible!

If you like French films it would be a start but God is this film long and boring. After watching the trailer - which went on and on and on I realised it wasn't for me. My other half who thinks they are a Francophile gave up after half an hour.
Didn't finish watching this

This was recommended to me - so I rented it out & only got past the first 20 mins before I decided it wasn't for me.
