4 out of 10 Decent remake
John from Dublin, 02 May 2011
This is a pretty coming of age story set in a horror setting. The film captures the heart of the earlier swedish version within a glossier setting that may be easier to watch for people used to more conventional movies (plu you don't have to read subtitles). It is neither as spooky or as thought provoking. There are some missing/changed scenes (not necessarily for the better) and the more hi-tech horror fx border on cheapening it a little bit more than the arty original. But the atmosphere and acting is quite decent. Worth a watch.

4 out of 10 Pleasetly suprised
Kate from Cork, 06 Jul 2011
This film is a gem. Brilliantly intertwined with a young boys hardships in comming to terms with his parents split, some very horrible bullies and an old vampire child and her companion. The music that followed this film was excellently done and the kids that played the title characters were both innocent and benevolent which made the film for me. I would definitly recommend this film, rent it and you will see.

3.5 out of 10 Interesting to watch - impossible to judge fully
Marilyn from Dublin, 07 Sep 2011
The original of this movie is a superb teen vampire movie. It is simply brilliant with each character, each setting, each scenario almost perfectly executed. This is a decent offering at bringing the story to a bigger audience but if you have seen the original then don't bother, if you haven't then rent it out. This really is for dullards who don't like subtitles

1 out of 10 Swedish original was much better
Sarah from Clare, 30 May 2011
With some of the script lifted directly from Twilight ('I've been twelve for a very long time' etc.) this is a boring American remake of the Swedish original. If you have seen the original don't bother with this - it brings nothing new, and is far less touching or creepy. It reveals some of it's secrets too early and ultimately fails to please.

3.5 out of 10 Nice surprise...
Damian from Dublin, 21 Jul 2011
I had forgotten what this movie was about when I sat down to watch it. It was a very nice surprise, the story is really and while a vampire movie there is so much more going on. Great performances by the two 12 year olds. Well worth a watch if you don't mind the blood n guts.

What's it about....
Based on the best–selling Swedish novel Lat den Ratte Komma (Let The Right One In) by John Ajvide Lindqvist, and the highly–acclaimed film of the same name, "Let Me In" is a contemporary coming-of-age tale about Oscar, an overlooked and bullied boy, who finds love and revenge through Eli, a beautiful yet peculiar girl who turns out to be a vampire.
