Roger Livesey plays the eponymous hero in a performance that should have seen him rise to the top of his profession, had he not preferred to work on stage instead of on camera. 'Blimp' is an incredible film that has stood the test of time better than most, and if it occasionally gets a bit jingoistic, its easy to forgive. For me, Powell and Pressburger's masterpiece, better even than A Matter of Life and Death.
