good concept bit lacking in overall storyline would be interesting to see a modern version

What's it about....
A plane carrying a group of schoolboys crashes on a remote tropical island. No adults survive but forty boys emerge unhurt. Under their elected leader, Ralph, the boys try to preserve their social discipline and survive, but Jack, the head of a group of choirboys, starts a battle into two rival groups. Jack's gang, the Hunters, becomes progressively more savage and terrorises Ralph's gang, ultimately ending with tragic consequences...
