4.5 out of 10 Didn't think I'd enjoy it but I was gripped.
Alan from Dublin, 16 Aug 2009
First time in ages that herself and myself watched the whole of a movie together without one of us falling asleep ! Gripping, no real story line but gripping. Very tense, I was actually on edge as some of the footage was brill. Most interesting thing would have been to find out why the nutter who did the tightrope walk split up with his mates who had helped him, what was behind that, and whether they would ever make up and be friends again. What an utter nutter though ... as soon as he gets r

4.5 out of 10 Superb
Gerard from Kildare, 10 Feb 2009
In many ways, this superb documentary reflects the act that it's trying to document - daring, stylish but very difficult to explain. The story of Phillippe Petit's tightrope walk 450m over the Manhattan streets is told in a meandering way, flitting back and forth through time, but without ever losing the sense of building tension as it unfolds. The characters are unique - if this was a movie they'd seem so hackneyed and ridiculous - and the director's sense of timing and emphasis is exceptional.

4.5 out of 10 Extraordinary !
Eoghan from Dublin, 10 Jan 2011
The real star of this film is the story itself, the guy, phillipe petit. staggering vision, courage , the skill oh my my god the skill, confidence...really amazing. to actually pull this off...honestly one of the most staggering personal feats i think of all time. its a solid, stylish documentary on the back of that. amazing to see the emotion that comes to the surface in those who helped him pull this off even 30 years later.....

4 out of 10 Wonderful and poignant
Cathy from Kildare, 11 Mar 2009
Phillippe is still an absolute nutter, and his energy and enthusiasm really enliven the 'talking heads' aspect of the film, and the story being told here is literally unbelievable! the friends and allies who made his feat possible are wonderful unsong heroes, with his best friend in particular putting himself through torture to make Phillippe's dream come true - well worth a watch!

4 out of 10 Bang on
Mark from Dublin, 29 Jun 2009
A compelling documentary of the high wire crossing between the World Trade Centre towers undertaken by at the time a not so famous French man and the team that supported him in carrying out this feat, even more amaxing is the fact that this was all done without permission a never to be repeated feat of daring do. Good to watch one of the better documentaries of the year.

What's it about....
A look at tightrope walker Philippe Petit's daring, but illegal, high-wire routine performed between New York City's World Trade Center's twin towers in 1974, what some consider, "the artistic crime of the century."
