Good exciting action

Trivia: One of the very few movies with no female speaking roles. Another being 'The Great Escape'. There you go. As a movie this is a very good, exciting seafaring yarn. The depiction of the enemy (the French) as a faceless foe over the waves is very effective while the action is excellently choreographed. One to recommend for all historical action buffs.
Master and Commander

Wonderful mixture of an old-fashioned narrative and great perspectives on life on tall ships. It seems totally authentic. And Russell Crowe is as convincing as ever...
Excellent take on the novels

Feels very authentic, another absorbing Crowe performance. Ending a letdown though, left wanting more or a sequel.
Highlight: "The lesser of two weevils"

A superb film. Great storyline, beautifully put together and I've just bought the soundtrack! Think I just might buy it.
