Miami Vice

Slick and pacy, this film rattles along as our heroes (without a rolled-up jacket sleeve in sight) go after the drug dealing baddies.
In a generally enjoyable romp, Foxx and Farrell are very good and the baddies are very bad without becoming cartoonish.
However, the resolution of the plotline involving Farrell and the love interest (a key figure in the criminal enterprise) is so daft it really spoils the film.
An enjoyable but hollow experience - perfect Friday night "veg out" material.

superficial steadicam dizzy movie

fairly basic plotline, which I think tries a little too much for style with very little in the way of substance in the way of action or any light-heartedness. Takes itself quite seriously which in a cop movie is not necessary, certainly not a reboot of an 80s cop series. Dont feel concerned enough for the protaganists to really understand the jeopardy that the plotline supposedly puts them in. but sure it all looks good

Rubbish

Michael Mann, Jamie Fox, Colin Farrell it had all the hallmarks of an enjoyable thriller. it actually started quite well until the love interest came into the fold and then it completely lost the run of itself.. full of cliche's and to be hosnest boring dialogue. this needed to fast paced because it was never going to have the storyline to keep you interested and it just wasn't. 2/10 and i'm being generous at that
A dud

Michael Mann has delivered some wonderful films but he's completely off cue with this dud.
As to be expected, there are some great scenes in it but Colin Farrell ruins it, as he does with everything he's in. Easily the most overrated actor around. The scenes between himself and Gong Li were so lacking in chemistry they were laughably bad.
Brutal plot

Colin and Jamie sold down the river in a mass of fast boats, planes, cars, gun battles, drugs and women. I had high hopes for this about the only redeeming feature would be the music that accompanies the movie. In a nutshell I am glad I didn't shell out to go the pictures for this but still easy entertainment with a wafer thin plot.
