4 out of 10 A little cracker
Deirdre from Kildare, 05 Jul 2010
I didn't expect this movie to be so enjoyable but am very glad I gave it a chance. A really rich movie, full of quirky characters, one would wonder how they even thought up such a motley crew! Has an almost old-fashioned feel to it the way the underdogs stand up to the nasty big wigs with some really clever and very funny plots. The movie set is a feast for the eyes as is the whole movie, a little gem.

1.5 out of 10 Rather boring
joseph from Galway, 24 Jul 2010
The film started off with a lot of promise and created a lot of hooks early on; unfortunately, the film failed to deliver. I found myself loosing interest as the film progressed and the quirky characters struggle failed to resonate with me. I was hoping the film would move up a gear, but unfortunately I couldnt watch it to the end.

4.5 out of 10 A GEM of a Movie
Brian from Westmeath, 16 Jan 2011
Nearly perfect- Similar to Jean-Pierre Junet's previous films Delicatessen and City of Lost Children with elements of dark and comedy mixed with quirky characters and unusual plot development. The Central characters give great performances and in the french tradition of greats like Amelie this will grip you from start to finish.

3 out of 10 A little bit daft, but great visually
Denise from Sligo, 22 Nov 2011
I usually love french movies, and this is a bit like Amelie (but with more fantasy) but I didn't love it - i'm not sure what age group it's best suited to. I was curious to see it after I saw the trailer a while back, but I don't think I'd bother watching it again. All good actors though, and as for the contortionist...blimey!

Heartwarming Madcap French film from the makers of Delicatessen. An underground Family of eccentric people with hidden skills combine in their own unique way to fight against corrupt French MOD officials. A very colourful film, one to watch many times.
