A great cast and an intriguing premise ultimately amounts to not very much. Two great French actresses Fanny Ardant and Emanuelle Beart share a lot of screentime with Gerard Depardieu given not very much to do as the man in the middle in this unconventional tale of middle-aged love gone stale. The film becomes repetitive and the twist at the end of the film is well signalled in advance. Disappointing.

A different type of threesome
Peter from Mayo, 09 Oct 2007
The fact that I've admired Emmanuel Beart since Manon de Source was the selling point in this tale of a threesome of sorts with a difference. Admittedly the premise of the estranged wife attempting to win/attract her husband back by the study of a beautiful prostitute that she sets him up with is a bit stretched and a bit laboured in the end but it does make for an intriguing tale all the same
Atmospheric

Atmospheric, and if you're a fan of Depardieu, Beart and french movies generally you might like it. A wife arranges for a call girl to get involved with her husband to see what makes him tick (all together now: "He's just tick!!") Interesting how it turns out.
well acted

I enjoyed this film, Depardieu is good as the aloof husband, Ardant is great as his curious wife. Its slow moving, well acted study of human relationships.
Only the French

Not one for teh action lovers, strange, unusual character driven film, well worth a watch
