I've been a huge Beatles/John Lennon fan for years. So much so that there isn't a lot that I could learn from a movie about him so I didn't rush to see this when it came out.
The acting is good and the story is fairly true to what I've read in the past. I don't think you have to be a big fan to enjoy the movie, in fact I think it will gain The Beatles a few more fans.

A pretty good story around the early teenage years of John Lennon and the formation of what was to turn out to be the Beatles takes the story up to Hamburg, a lot of this is dominated by the plot surrounding his Mum and Aunt. A good watch for all especially I would imagine anyone with any interest in music.
I enjoyed this!

If you are interested in John Lennon’s early life, then this is for you. Good performances from all the cast and a very interesting subject, it won’t win an Oscar but it will entertain. I really enjoyed it.

The early lennon years from school though to Hamburg and the battles in his personal life that he had to come to terms with some good acting and its well done, enjoyable for beatles and non beatles fans,

This is a great film for fans of the Beatles. Although it's not 100% accurate it gives a great insight into the life of the young John Lennon.
