A Lovely Film

There is very little not to like in this. It's well written, well acted and well worth an evening in. The story is slightly cliched but still manages to contain enough surprises to keep you guessing. A lot of the references may not make a lot of sense if you're very young.
I totally enjoyed it.
Funny, clever and moving

The male lead character was painful to watch but he wasn't meant to be likable. Overall this movie works well enough mainly thanks to the quirky female lead. Anne Hathaway was gorgeous and acted superbly. Had a tear in my eye toward the end. It's funny clever and moving. What more could you want?
Disappointing and miscast
Sarah from Roscommon, 13 Mar 2012
I think I'd have enjoyed it more, if I hadn't read the book. Jim Sturgess as the 'hero' is quite unlikeable and shallow and Anne Hathaway is ok but too pretty and her accent is very odd.
In the book, Dex more complex and you care more what happens to him and Em is less pathetic...
Bore fest

I never comment on films, but I had to warn somebody.
My wife picked this "chick flick" and I watched it with an open mind.
I waited 2 hours for something to happen and NOTHING did!
A truly awful film.
Don't waste your time.
Nice

It was nice but sad and not what I expected. A nice film but I wouldn't stay in to watch it.
