1.5 out of 10 Ruined!
Jess from Roscommon, 09 Jun 2011
I was enjoying this film, Juliette Binoche was great, and it had a lot going for it in terms of character variety, . But, without going into details, there were 2 awful moments which nearly made me turn it off, and should have as it never picked itself up again really. It ends up coming across as the work of an old mysogynist lech; beautiful young women throw themselves at the feet of horrible old or middleaged men, after the men have humiliated them. Tacky. Shame, as it could have been something better.

3.5 out of 10 Un gout de paris (or anywhere else)
Donal from Cork, 01 Dec 2011
If you want a film full of drama, action or suspense, then this probably won't be for you. Essentially, it's a film that peers a lttle into the lives, loves, hopes and disappointments of a range of characters that are connected with each other in some little way. Some of the characters, even relatively minor ones, are beautifully sketched. There's real humour and warmth, and that French way of acting that makes it all worthwhile.

3.5 out of 10 Slices of Parisian life....
Mark from Cork, 12 Mar 2009
Paris is the atmospheric setting for these several intertwined narratives. Sometimes moving, sometimes humourous, the city of light is the perfect backdrop for these involving stories of everyday life. Juliet Binoche leads an extremely strong French cast. Great cinematography captures Paris at it's finest

4 out of 10 Parie in real life.
John from Donegal, 03 Jun 2009
Life in Paris for a man with Heart disease seems hardly the type of film that would be uplifting. But in fact it was. Juliette Binoche as the 'Damaged' single mother and Romain Duris as her terminally ill brother really bring this film to life.

5 out of 10 Paris-a 'must-see'
Avril from Cork, 21 Mar 2009
Great movie. There are funny scenes in it. Romain Duris is very good in his role. Of course there are emotional scenes in it as well but it is not what I would call a 'chick-flick'. I would recommend this to anyone who likes French movies.

What's it about....
Pierre, a professional dancer, suffers from a serious heart disease. While he is waiting for a transplant which may save his life, he watches the world go by from the balcony of his Paris apartment. Even when Elise, his sister with three kids and no husband, moves in to care for him, Pierre does not change this new habit. And instead of dancing himself, it is Paris and the Parisians who dance before his eyes.
