3.5 out of 10 Slow but steady
Lena from Cork, 21 Apr 2008
This movie was one that was slow to develop, and never really picks up. Having said that, I did enjoy it. All of the lead actors did a superb job. There is only allusion to math, so it isn't bogged down with jargon. The ending left you with questions, but just enough to keep you thinking.

3 out of 10 Ok but be warned
John from Mayo, 11 Dec 2007
This film was not too bad, but I would only recommend it to fans of any of the actors involed. As one I quite enjoyed it but Palthrow's character is extremely annoying at times and the story could have been tighter.

Mark from Dublin, 28 Sep 2009

4 out of 10 Decent.
Ciaran from Dublin, 23 Apr 2007
I enjoyed this. Paltrow is a bit off-putting as the maniacal daughter of an excellent Hopkins but apart from that it is compelling enough viewing.

0.5 out of 10 I just don't get it
Niamh from Dublin, 18 Jan 2008
I thought the story was basically pointless, I didn't like the main character, I didn't understand her. A waste of time in my opinion.

What's it about....
The daughter of a brilliant but mentally disturbed mathematician, recently deceased, tries to come to grips with her possible inheritance: his insanity. Complicating matters are one of her father's ex-students who wants to search through his papers and her estranged sister who shows up to help settle his affairs... Based on the work by playwright David Auburn, Gwyneth Paltrow reprises the role made famous in her appearance in the theatres of London's West End.
