Disappointing movie from Depp

I was disappointed with this movie. Johnny Depp is normally great in all his movies but he seemed off form in this and the storyline is quite weak. Marion Cottillard gives a good performance but the movie limps along, the storyline failed to pique my interest personally. After reading and enjoying the book, I looked forward to Jonny Depp's portrayal of Dillinger. But what a let down, Depp looked the part but I dont think he really portrayed the character very well. As always with Mann, it looks good and has the right 30's era feel but just didn't grip me like I thought it would.
Michael Mann..... how does he do it

How does he take a genuinely fascinating story and make it dull?! You would think, with a character like Dillinger, that there would be no way to make a dull film, but he did it, AGAIN. I was going to give it 3, but... Marion Cotillard..... hmmmmmm

You know it's a good story when you get up from the film and look up the facts on google.
It's very well told and very well acted and all in all a great film. If it was fiction it would be good but as it's fact it's great.

not really a gripping story and pretty predictable story line.
Maybe because it is based on a true story. But the old style: shot him 20 times before they drop dead and still whisper last words is kind of out of date.
