Another potentially excellent film that doesn't know where to go in the end. Written by James Ellroy (LA Confidential) and helmed by the director (writer?) of the excellent 'The Messenger' (also with Harrelson -- who's terrific here as the 'Bad Lieutenant' style anti-hero, and one of the most intriguing delusionists since Travis Bickle). But you're watching a film that is going to disappoint you -- guaranteed. For 90 minutes you believe it's a cleverly unfolding story. And it would be. Suddenly you'll discover it's all been a social 'study'. Yeah, one of them...

Woody is magnificent & carries the film, however, it’s long & you keep thinking he’s going to bring you someplace in the film, where something is going to happen & it doesn’t !!
