Recount (2008)

This is a reconstruction of the Florida 2000 electoral debacle. If you followed the real thing closely, this movie will slightly disappoint because of the huge number of things it doesn't cover. However, that still leaves a lot of crazy shenanigans for you to see. The production looks like it's being very unfair to the Republicans, but (according to the interviews in the extra features) the actual Republicans involved have said it's very true-to-life. It's good fun for all fans of US politics.

Excellent and captivating retelling of the now infamous Bush v Gore 2000 Election which boiled down to a few votes in Florida to decide the ultimate winner. Corruption reigns supreme across the board and it's a sobering look at how our legal and political systems can be swayed by power brokers. Delivered as much like a thriller than a drama, this is 2 hours of solid entertainment for anyone with an inkling of interest in the subject mater. Excellent performances throughout also.

This is the best film i have seen in a long time and even if your not interested in the subject you will still enjoy the film as the other reviewer says it is made like a thriller. It shows how much pull them gangsters (the bush family) had at the time. Its hard to believe they got away with what they did. Watch it, you wont be disappointed.

We are very glad we didn't see this until after Bush left offfice. What a person to be in charge of the free world for 8 years, terrifying!
