1 out of 10 politically 'correct'
James from Galway, 19 Nov 2008
Ok,I wanted to see this film for a while, I was kinda on a political thriller trip after Lions and Lambs but this brought me back to earth with a bump...its ok, thats all I can say, there is absolutly nothing new here and it shows. I found the 'twist' quite clever but I never really cared for any of the characters and it seemed to drag on a littlke too much without any big pay off. One for the organic brigade I think.

3 out of 10 It's sensitivity becomes its weakness
Colm from Galway, 22 May 2008
Not a terrible movie but its senstivity starts to drag the film down a little from the getgo. From the terrible state of the stricken wife and the compromised government aide who trys to help, the pain of the husand under torture, the moral dilemma of the agent, the egyptian cops daughters relationship, it's all just too much!! Should have focused more on the plot and less on relationships.

3.5 out of 10 Rendition
James from Sligo, 17 Nov 2008
Very interesting film based on the U.S. governments attempts to overcome terrorism. The storyline is powerful and the characters are wonderful. An innocent man is picked up at the airport and transported to Turkey where he is help and tortured for information. The US agent is awakened to the brutality of the whole event and works for his release. Worth a watch. Eye opening.

4.5 out of 10 All too believable.
John from Donegal, 14 Aug 2008
An Egyptian born US citizen is kidnapped by the US government and tortured to obtain a confession to a terrorist attack. A brilliant film, well acted by all, and utterly believable. Meryl Streep is particularyly good (as always), the twist at the end was unexpected, and if you weren't paying attention, would be very confusing, but it wound the film up nicely.

2.5 out of 10 Timely
Ciaran from Dublin, 12 Jul 2008
A timely and topical movie that has strong things to say about illegal torture without trial and the lies but that inst as effective as it could be due to a poor script and some laggy pacing. I imagine this is classified as a thriller but there are few thrills even though the central plot is not too bad. All in all an average effort of a noble ideal.
