Interesting 'footie' movie

Rented this cos I missed it at our movie club, also Gael Garcia Bernal usually in good films. Set in South America, these 2 brothers are spotted playing football in their local village by a talent scout, who promises them great things. Surprisingly they do make it into big-time football (huge in S America) but it's most watchable for the relationship between the 2 brothers, crucial towards the end. The film doesn't go into enough detail at times, however its really watchable (don't get disheartened after an unpromising first 20 mins or so..)

Rudo & Cursi brings together again some of the key players from the excellent Y Tu Mama Tambien. Although the dynamic between Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna as bickering half-brothers is enjoyable, this film does not reach the dramatic peaks of their previous outing together. The themes of the film are universal, brothers trying to create a better life for themselves and their families, struggling to cope with their demons.
