4 out of 10 Hugely enjoyable if you like your 'Weepies'!
PAUL from Galway, 17 Jun 2009
Same director and lead (W Smith) as 'The Pursuit of happiness' although this slow burner will have you in absolute 'bits'..I had a empty void in my stomach going to bed after watching it, truly the saddest movie of 09..a fairly romantic story nevertheless, self sacrafice and road to redemption stuff. Rosario Dawson puts in a huge performance, perhaps even stealing the show from Will Smith. You spend an hour wondering where the film is leading you, but just let it wash over you, you won’t be disa

4.5 out of 10 Worth Watching
John from Donegal, 14 Dec 2009
A man goes out of his way to help strangers, as his back story unfolds, the reasons become clearer. Not usually a Will Smith fan, because of all the Special Effects that usually surround him. But this film really shows off his acting skills. The characters are well played, and we cared about what happens to them. The ending is pretty easy to figure out, but that doesn't take away from the excellent script. Well worth watching.

3 out of 10 Seven Pounds
Cara from Dublin, 16 Nov 2009
The plot was very clever and I expected this film to be good. However I don't think the plot came across strongly enough in the film. I was glad I had read the story beforehand. There was quite a few personal interruptions when I was watching it so maybe that's why I didn't get the plot in the film. I also thought it was very slow to get going. Other wise it was good.

5 out of 10 Loved it
Jevgenija from Wicklow, 25 Jun 2009
The majority of the movie is mysterious, slightly confusing and will have you guessing a lot. It's almost hard to believe so many loose ends could be tied up as it nears its ending, but it does, and it does so beautifully. Everything culminates in this magnificent ending that will make you want to tell everyone you meet to go see this movie now.

4.5 out of 10 Top Movie
Mark from Dublin, 17 Aug 2009
My only advice maybe watch the trailer prior to the movie as for a good portion of this you are wandering what is going on and if what seems as a lot of wandering plot lines will tie up and make sense. It all comes good at the end and everything drops into a place a really hard hitting end to the story and well worth it highly recommend.

What's it about....
From Gabriele Muccino, the Director of The Pursuit Of Happyness comes Seven Pounds. Will Smith stars as Ben, an IRS agent who is depressed and guilt-ridden about mistakes from his past. He sets out to make amends by helping seven strangers. When he meets Emily (Rosario Dawson), a beautiful woman with a heart condition, he falls in love with her, thereby complicating his plans. Woody Harrelson also appears as a blind pianist who befriends Ben.
