Difficult viewing, great film.

Excellent, unsettling film. Though the film begins with a portrait of a sex addict played wonderfully by Michael Fassbinder, it really gains depth when his sister appears. What at first seems a cool lifestyle soon becomes sordid to us the viewer and we begin to feel the heavy unspoken weight of some terrible childhood trauma for these two. Trauma that has led them to polar opposite behaviour. The sister is lost in a black hole of emotional need and pain. The brother terrified of emotional connection keeps his body busy to keep his heart numb. Brilliant film.

An insight into real humanity

This film has me sitting thinking about it 2 days later. The story is lacking in detail deliberately. I found this very hard to watch - there is a lot of tension and many of the scenes are awkward.. of course this only give the watcher an uneasy feeling for most of the film. It really brings you into how sexual addiction is just as damaging as alcohol, drugs or gambling. A piece of brilliance and it's not a story you will find on the shelves already.
Disturbing but brilliant

While the subject matter could turn people off, i would highly recommend the movie. Carey mulligan is brilliant but the star is onviously michael fassbender. The movie keeps you guessing re thei background story and two weeks on i still keep thinking about the movie.
Basically porn

I knew this was about a sex addict, but whoa- didn't realise we'd be watching a couple of hours of this crazy man's escapades! Other than that, Carey Mulligan and Michael Fassbender are great and it's a good film that shows the ugly side of addiction.
Good film
