2.5 out of 10 Slueth
JOE from Dublin, 07 Jul 2008
This film was not really what I was expecting,a bit boring, but if dark suspence films are your thing then this one`s for you, altough both actors play fine parts I`ve definatley seen both in much better films than this.but alls not lost either ,the storyline is good, and twists are ok,did hold my attention throughout, but lacks excitement

4 out of 10 its good!!!
Nuala from Dublin, 16 Jan 2009
I really didn't think I was going to like this BUT I DID!!! I am a big fan of the original film and of the play so I was very sceptical about it However its pretty good and it you haven’t seen the others then you’ll really enjoy the suspense element. Very well acted by both men, so give it a go, Nuala

4 out of 10 Very classy thriller
Samantha from Dublin, 24 Nov 2009
With a cast of just 2 people I was a little concerned that I wouldn't enjoy this, but I shouldn't have worried as the 2 people in question were more than able of telling this story. Great twists, if a little confusing at times, but overall really classy & arty film.

5 out of 10 excellent film
Catherine from Cork, 06 May 2009
This is not a remake of the Olivier/Caine movie of the same name. Harold Pinter wrote this screenplay and although the plot is loosely the same, the tensions and twists are entirely different. Caine and Law give top notch performances - stylish and cool.

4.5 out of 10 Excellent
Marlene from Dublin, 20 Mar 2009
Amazing movie with unexpected turns. Even if you saw the old one with Olivier/ Caine, this new version with a modern and sophisticated touch will surprise you. Excellent acting and direction. Highly recommended.

What's it about....
Obey the rules... The Anthony Shaffer play, Sleuth, originally brought to the screen in 1972, gets the remake treatment in this updated version. Michael Caine plays the role of the cuckholded murder-mystery writer and Jude Law plays the young aspiring actor who steals the literary giant's wife, only to find himself subsequently swallowed up in an elaborate revenge scheme.
