4.5 out of 10 Classic from John Hughes
Brian from Mayo, 12 Jul 2007
Often described as a teen movie, this film is nothing like what passes as a teen movie today. Instead this is an insightful look into five teenagers lives, where the learn they have more in common than they thought. Great performances from the young cast, especially Anthony Michael Hall, who has to play a very subtle role. Judd Nelson is also strong as the "criminal" of the piece. It remains as relevant today as it did twenty years ago. A real classic.

4.5 out of 10 Pretty class movie
David from Dublin, 14 Jul 2008
There's some great character development in this movie and I really love how it works with the character, having a good laugh, and learning about them without feeling that there needs to be any big event. Great movie worth seeing.

What's it about....
Without doubt, John Hughes' The Breakfast Club is one of the greatest teen movies of all-time, if not the best. Without it, we might not have witnessed the phenomenal rise of the 'brat pack'; the group of actors synonymous with the teen films of the '80s. They were five teenage students with nothing in common, faced with spending a Saturday detention together in their High School library. At 7am, they had nothing to say, but by 4pm, they had bared their souls to each...
