Enjoyable

Splendid acting from both Robin Wright and james mcavoy make this movie. Its a fact based account of the surratt's family involvement in the assasination of president lincoln in 1865 . Its a race against time for the defense lawyer (mcavoy) to save mary surrat from the death penalty and injustice of then american judicial system where civilians could be tried by a military court. It might sound boring but theres a nice bit of suspense built up throughtout, and a genuine feeling for the characters to make it memorable.

A somewhat dark story based on fact about a lady caught up in the assasination of Abraham Lincoln. Mostly courtroom drama which left you guessing at the end. However the likely answer is given in one of the DVD supplements !
Fine Film

Wasn't sure of what was ahead of me as I sat to watch this as I hadn't heard anything about it but it was great surprise. Excellent film, brilliantly acted and scripted. The 2 hours watching it flew by.

A good movie with some fine acting performances. I wasn't bored at any stage of the 2hr movie. A good post US civil war courtroom story revolving around the assassination of President Lincoln.

We thoroughly enjoyed this film, interesting themes and a section of history that is little known.
