Great style but not that amazing

This is a well-crafted dark version but there are a number of problems. It is too long and probably has been watched by many in the wrong way. Bale is a decent actor but inclined to overdo Brando imitations. Ledger is great but it is a mix of Nicholson and that sadistic glee that Hugh Laurie as House revels in. I can't help feeling that much of the glowing praise given to this film was down to his untimely death. Good film, overlong and a bit plodding in spots but certainly overshadowed by event

Well, that was a tad disappointing. Far too long and far too deep. "Batman Begins" was a major turn in the right direction for the B/M franchise - "The Dark Knight" did not continue in that mode. Don't get me wrong - it was a hugely enjoyable movie - but the length and cinematic direction was too aff putting. Bale's "hoarse" voice for his batman character was just wrong and as for Ledger - oh sweet lord - he should have jsut said he was doign a complete replica of Nicholson. Why the critics fell

Chris Nolan has rescued this once ailing franchise. Bale isnt the most likely batman, but plays Bruce Wayne excellently, as the spoilt lady loving boozehound that any billionaire heir would be. Despite the hype about Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker, it really is quite intense and surreal, never quite knowing what'll he will do or say next. Seeing him walking out the exploding hospital in a nurse's uniform is a iconic image. The 'deep voiced' batman does seem a tad strong, but then he is

Really enjoyed this movie. Thought Heath Ledger did an amazing job, by far the best acting in this movie. I know this might sound weird, but I can't help thinking how it would be to watch this if he was still alive... I'm sure I would love his acting anyway, but makes me wonder... Great movie! I also like the fact that they casted Maggie, not exactly what you would normaly expect. She also did a great job. Best one from the Batman franchise so far in my opinion.
Best Batman film

Thoroughly enjoyed this film. I understand now all the hype about Heath Ledger who stole the show. Great cast, twists and turns all the way and thankfully back to a dark Gotham tale as opposed to the farcical earlier Batman films with Arnie etc. Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman were excellent in their supporting roles, I thought Christian Bale (Batman)was actually overshadowed by Heath Ledger as the joker. Definitely recommend.
