This is an absorbing movie. it has plenty of french angst and melodrama. none of it's five main characters, a couple and their three children, initially attract any great empathy or affection, but as the story unfolds over a 20 year phase in their relatively normal lives, you find yourself warming to each of them in varying measure. there is no great plot here. it could be a diary of almost any 'normal' family. but it has charm, atmosphere and an excellent soundtrack, even it spans quite a nu

4 out of 10 Honest drama with real heart
Eamon from Meath, 20 Jul 2010
This deals with 5 days in the life of a family. % days, years apart that marker turning points in their relationship and made them the family that they ultimately become. The real strenght with this one is that it never becomes too sentimental or schmaltzy. Real people, real situations, real family. Well worth watching.

Robert‘s father (Roger Dumas) has been generous enough to give his son the comfortable home he shares with Marie–Jeanne and their...
